My Heart Is Yours

I was reading Romans 9-11 last week and came upon a section where God says that He made some us into objects of His mercy, filling us with His glory and riches and that He set us aside as vessels of glory. That just filled me with wonder at the mercy of God. This prompted the following song, the bridge of which incorporates this idea. The statement "My heart is yours" comes from the recognition of what Jesus did for me in his death on the cross -- providing restored relationship with He and the Father, the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit, forgiveness of my sins, complete reconciliation, and being filled with the good stuff of Jesus' character.

You show me lovingkindness, leading me in repentance
Forgiving washing my sin, once for all, again, again
Now I'm Yours, my heart is Yours
Now I'm Yours, my heart is Yours

Pre-Chorus:
You bore my pain through the nails in Your hands
The thorny crown pierced Your brow, You never resisted
When I think of this and remember
All that I can say is

Chorus:
I am Yours, my heart is Yours
I am Yours, my heart is Yours, Jesus
I am Yours, my heart is Yours, forever

Bridge:
Forever I'm Yours, Forever
Forever I'm Yours, Forever
Forever I'm Yours, Forever
Forever I'm Yours, Forever
Now I've become an object of mercy
Filled with God's riches and glory
I bow in reverence for You are holy
Now all I want to do is give myself to You
And worship You, worship You, worship You... forever
